The group exhibition Steinstraße Siebzehn brings together works by Willi Beermann, Linus Berg, Hannah Sophie Dunkelberg, David Ostrowski, David Schiesser, Mona Schulzek and Ming Yuan. In a site-specific intervention, artistic positions from various media converge, curated specially for the former stamp-making workshop Stempel Baumann. Today, the location at Steinstraße 17 serves as an off space for the Stadtsparkasse Düsseldorf. Drawing on the history of the site as a space of daily utility, the exhibition examines its current transformation into a venue for temporary artistic interventions. The works are intended as a conscious inscription into the existing architecture, entering into a dialogue with the structures and traces of the former place of business. The exhibition concept creates a space of resonance between past and present, as well as between functional use and artistic appropriation.
