Tom Król,
Die Nacht ist vorbei, 2022
30x40, Acryl, Oil on Canvas
As a painter, Tom Król has possibilities that he cherishes ; for example the access to a pure form of communication by painting and triggering a certain emotion, that will eventually echo in others. He has the opportunity to create a focus on a single piece, in a time where we can be hammered with images. Painters, in Tom’s view, have the possibility to slow time down. In his case, he gives us a « room », as he calls it himself, to initiate a silent dialogue with a painting that stands still. His works allow to go back and forth from the two facets of abstraction and figuration, pushing them to express their limits and their oscillant and ungraspable point of encounter.
